Taiwan today is facing steady increases in case numbers as the government refuses to act.
Whereas previously, residents of different cities in Taiwan could know the exact location of where positive local cases where found, the government has made their data sharing more opaque in recent months by simply saying whether a person was in the North, South, East or West without providing any more detail in their public document releases.
As of March 31st, the government is also further reducing their transparency regarding case numbers, by also removing the vaccination data for the confirmed cases.
As of April 1st, the government also stopped releasing the location data altogether for local case detail reports.
With the holiday weekend, and mass crowding at public transit locations with both a TRA and high-speed rail shutdown in the South, if the government does not act quickly to suspend public activities, the situation could spiral out of control.
