Kaohsiung added 8 new COVID cases yesterday (and 3 today), one was a student who just participated in the final academic tests for this year.
The tests were held from January 21st to the 23rd, the students was confirmed positive on the 24th. The student, along with all their peers and teachers, has been quarantined in order to prevent further spread of the virus.
The Kaohsiung Department of Health announced that the student began having symptoms on the 21st of January. When they were finally diagnosed positive on the 24th the student had a Ct value of 21.2.
In most testing sites at the school there were between 30 and 40 students. All individuals the student encountered either in the classroom or while having meals have been quarantined at home and are undergoing testing.
As of the time of this article (January 25th) all those tested have come back as negative for COVID.
